Perhaps mercifully, if you’re one of my members who like my KM posts but can’t stand my take on political issues, I’ve been pretty quiet lately about the wars, filibusters, the economy, torture, health care, energy policy, political strategy, or any of the other issues I get the urge to comment on. That’s because having delivered myself of my various opinions about how the Obama Administration is falling short in each of these areas, I’ve been waiting to see whether his initiatives are working, or whether some of the misgivings I expressed earlier are becoming reality. From my perspective there’s a little lull in the action right now, in spite of the very successful Obama opening of a US diplomatic offensive.
I don’t know how much longer the waiting will continue. I’ve been resisting commenting on the continuing campaign of the Cheneys to rewrite history, or on the Republican reaction to Sotomayor’s selection by the President, or on the President’s trip and speeches, or on the gathering storm around health care. Plenty of bloggers have been commenting on these things and I’m not sure I have anything to add to other progressive perspectives on these issues. But this silence can’t last too long because there’s sure to be some new outrage, or some failure to respond to a new outrage to comment on. So, please enjoy both the silence on political issues and the KM posts for the time being.
